CCG Expands Cloud Practice by Naming Greg Pierce as EVP of Cloud

September 2, 2020

Data has increasingly become the most valued asset an organization owns.  For over 18 years, organizations have engaged with CCG to harness the power of their data.  During that time, the adoption of the cloud has shifted from a “nice to have” to a necessity.  This shifting cloud paradigm has led CCG’s customers to increasingly request more in the area of cloud strategy, cloud migration, and on-going cloud/data management. With the effort to strengthen CCG’s cloud focus, expand offers, and exceed market expectations, CCG welcomes Greg Pierce as the company’s new Executive Vice President of Cloud.

A 27-year career in technology backs Greg’s visionary attitude and expertise in emerging cloud strategies. Greg co-founded Concerto Cloud Services in 2011, a cloud services provider, where he has since served as Chief Cloud Officer responsible for developing the company’s strategic direction, vision, and product offerings. In 2017, he helped lead Concerto’s strategic acquisition by DXC Technology Company.

“For years, CCG has helped our customers to successfully modernize their data and analytics platforms by leveraging cloud technologies.  As cloud increasingly becomes the preferred platform for data and analytics, we recognized the opportunity to expand our offerings. By integrating our deep data and analytics expertise with our rapidly growing cloud engineering capabilities, we can bring a unique, intelligent cloud experience to our customers.” Says Dan Phelps, CEO of CCG.  “Greg’s vision for cloud, intense focus on customer success, and strong track record of building great teams make him ideal to lead the next evolution of CCG’s cloud offerings.”

Greg’s passion for cloud strategy grew from his early work in owning and operating two companies that provided a variety of IT services, managed services, and cloud computing solutions. His strategic knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services empowered him to lead the conversion of Concerto’s Private Cloud offering to a hybrid and public offering. Concerto grew from a startup within Tribridge to its own entity, being recognized as a “top 15 cloud services provider” and “coolest cloud vendor in the country,” with more than $30 million in revenue, over 400 direct customers, and 70 transacting channel partners.

“CCG’s core strengths in data, analytics, and cloud mixed with the motivation of their team members make this opportunity a great one.” Says Greg Pierce, “I am looking forward to leading CCG through our next phase of growth.”

The addition of Greg Pierce as EVP of Cloud aligns with CCG’s core values of teaming, learning, and serving. Greg frequently mentors entrepreneurs and business startups, sharing a positive influence on the community. His startup mentality enables him to collaborate with customers, team members, and partners to win together as a team.
