November 10, 2018
CCG is proud to share their endorsement of the American Heart Association (AHA) through sponsorship of the 2018 Heart Walk. On November 10, 2018, over 40 members of CCG and their families raised awareness for heart health at the 2018 Tampa Bay Heart Walk. CCG was proud to be a contributor for the event, raising $9,575, a record breaking total for the organization and over $2,000 more than last year alone. With over 5,000 companies and 40,000 individuals in attendance, the Tampa Bay Heart Walk successfully raised over $4.3 Million. That number continues to grow with donations being accepted through December.
CCG kept the competition rising between employees through five different teams. We treasured this opportunity for our employees to become more involved in the community. In the months leading up to the Heart Walk, CCG held multiple fundraising events to raise awareness and engage our fellow Tampa technologists. On October 19th employees also gave into their sweet tooth at an office-wide bake sale at the CCG Tampa headquarters in The Pointe. Here, CCGers sold baked goods and encouraged employees from around the building to donate to AHA. Following that event, we held a Game Day Watch Party where employees gathered to see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers versus the Carolina Panthers and purchased Squares, a game donation pool, where all three winners donated their funds back to AHA. Finally, our members sold Heart Walk t-shirts, with 50% of the cost going towards their heart walk team. These were just some of the many opportunities that CCGers volunteered in the Tampa Bay community for this worthwhile cause. We look forward to growing in our support of the American Heart Association in years to come.
“I am extremely proud of the funds that CCG raised and how our CCGers came together to support such a wonderful organization and event. We are thankful to have our headquarters in the beautiful city of Tampa, and we enjoyed the opportunity to give back and get involved in Heart Walk Tampa Bay” - Mary Bolen, Head of Community Council and Delivery Manager, CCG. Mary Bolen and fellow Community Council member Brian Metz were part of the 1K Club for the Tampa Bay Heart Walk, individually raising over $1,000 for the November event.
