Practice Director, Data Governance & Privacy

Job Responsibilities 

The Practice Director of Data Governance & Privacy oversees the profitability and successful development and execution of the Data Governance & Privacy domain offerings of CCG. This includes assessments (feasibility, maturity, privacy, tool selection, etc.), roadmaps, and Data Governance frameworks. This role partners with other practices, Cloud, Sales, Marketing, and Talent Acquisition to create overall strategies to support new and existing product lines, growth strategies, and successful growth of their practice domain. This includes growing CCG employee skillsets and fostering CCG core values. This role is targeted to be 50% billable. 

Your specific duties will include: 

Practice Development 

  • Create practice-level strategic plans, budgets and hiring plans; ensure hiring plans are aligned to approved cost structure and capacity targets
  • Create, enhance and continuously improve tools and methods for providing services and implementing solutions within the practice domain
  • Responsible for hiring, orienting, and training employees within practice domain while fostering a positive, engaging environment
  • Coach, mentor and develop practice squad leaders and team members
  • Establish, and ensure completion of, employee’s semi-annual goals by gathering pertinent inputs on personal growth, internal CCG and client needs and aligning with employee’s career progression

Delivery consulting 

  • Work as a domain expert on client engagements in a billable capacity
  • Serve in functional or technical leadership role on projects

Sales Support 

  • Support sales executives with shaping qualified opportunities and developing them into pursuits
  • Serve as Pursuit Lead and/or Solution Lead on sales opportunities partnering with sales executives
  • Balance sales pursuit workload by making tactical decisions to leverage team members to fulfill pursuit requirements and maximize ability for CCG to win opportunities.

Support delivery enablement of Existing and New Products 

  • Partner with Solution owner(s) and Chief Product Officer to maintain, enhance and continuously evolve existing product and solution offerings within the practice domain
  • Support CCG’s go to market framework focusing on training and enabling delivery to successfully perform product implementations and estimate custom enhancements to offerings
  • Support product development efforts with coordination of Product and Delivery practice team members to assist CCG in achieving product initiatives
  • Support the creation of sales and marketing assets for services and solutions within the practice domain

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • At least 10 years’ professional experience in business strategy roles in a consulting capacity
  • Proven thought leadership in the field of data governance; has published papers, spoken at conferences and/or local technology association meetings, contributed to technology articles/blogs, etc.
  • Experience creating multiple data governance strategies and road maps for various industries and various sized organizations
  • Deep understanding of three technical skills related to governance (master data management, metadata, data governance methodology, change management, data quality and or data architecture).
  • Experience leading prospective clients through discovery sessions, solution scoping and design, and articulation of our value proposition
  • Proven track record developing go-to-market strategies for service offerings and capabilities
  • Proven ability to inspire and lead high-performing teams tapping into team members’ intrinsic motivators and building a culture of extraordinary teamwork and customer focus 
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to provide sound strategic recommendations and practical operational insight to senior executives 
  • Knowledge of key functional areas such as sales, marketing, customer experience, finance and analytics 
  • Ability to identify untapped market potential, then develop and implement plans to capture it 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills: demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, develop solutions, and craft high quality presentations to senior management 
  • Expert understanding of data governance trends
  • Development of content for data governance workshops and comfortable presenting to 40+ people.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate complex information to functional leaders and executives 

Preferred Skills and Experience: 

  • 5+ years working for a large consulting firm in a similar capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in an analytical discipline such as mathematics, engineering, computer science, economics, or business administration
  • Proficient with Project Management tools (Microsoft Project, JIRA)
